Seminário da Fofoca

Instalação e seminário, Iminencia de Tragedia, FUNARTE, São Paulo, 2018 

O Seminário da Fofoca junta duas palavras de lugares diferentes: uma vinculada aos saberes acadêmicos e outra aos saberes das redes feita por mulheridades. Ao juntá-las, Fabiana pretende tensionar o percurso histórico da fofoca, pensando junto com Silvia Federici, quando virou um termo pejorativo, da maldita e da que fala mal ou é mal falada, procurando reescrever e reinscrever a fofoca, em contextos feministas atuais. A instalação traz uma série de frases impressas em almofadas de paetê. As Frases se revelam ao público / espectador ao passarem a mão nas almofadas: “é dando que se dá”, “doutorado em patriarcado”, “centímetro por sentímetro”, “inimiga, minha louca”, “que saudade do cheiro de bebida no nosso quarto inteiro / que vinha da tua boca / depois que você bebia e beijava quem você queria / e dizia: você está louca”.

Com sua aparência kitsch de um locus amoenus, o Seminário da Fofoca, procura com ironia quebrar o tabu de lugares que se erigiram sobre a lógica de esconder as coisas debaixo do tapete. O espaço também foi ativado como um seminário para pessoas interessadas em conversar sobre assédio e violências diversas no contexto do circuito cultural. Texto de Érica Zingano

The Gossip Seminar brings together two words from different places: one linked to academic knowledge and the other to knowledge based on networks formed by diverse woman. Putting this words together, Fabiana intends to highlight the historical path of gossip, thinking together with Silvia Federici, when it became a pejorative term, for the damned or for the one who speak ill of, trying to rewrite and reinscribe a flaccid one, in current feminist contexts. For the installation, she stamped a series of sentences in sequin pillows. The Phrases are revealed to the audience / spectator when they run their hands over the pillows:: "Is giving that we give", "doctorate in patriarchy", "centimeter by sentimeter", "enemy, my madwoman". 

With its kitschy appearance of locus amoenus, the Gossip Seminary ironically tries to break the taboo of places that have erected on the logic of hiding things under the rug. The space was also activated as a seminar for people interested in talking about abuse and different types of violence in the context of the cultural circuit. Text by Érica Zingano
